Strange admin log message – have I been hacked?

Post by 10010110 »

So, the admin log has one entry that reads like this:
Fehler beim Versand: SMTP Error: data not accepted.SMTP server error: DATA END command failed Detail: Your message has been rejected due to spam or virus classification [ SecuriteInfo.com.Spam-48250.UNOFFICIAL ]. If you feel this is inapplicable, please r
And yeah, the message is cut off there.
But what does that mean? I haven’t sent anything from within CMSMS lately. Is there someone sending out spam from my system?

this doesn't have to mean your site is hacked.
it is also possible someone used your contact form to sent you a message that was detected as spam.

Ah, alright. Yeah, I am getting a lot of spam through the contact forms on various CMSMS sites lately. I’m wondering why that is? It didn’t happen before. Could it be that there is some weakness in FormBuilder that has been discovered by spam bots?

I've had to add the Captcha module to a lot of Formbuilder forms to stop spammers...

Not a weakness in form builder just not one of it's functions hence the captcha module...
