Styling news based on the category

Post by stinhambo »

Hi there,

Is it possible to have two seperate news blocks on a page and sort them based on the category?

I have a news section (new website launches etc) and a general thoughts section (discussion, trends etc) that I want to display in two seperate blocks.

Can I do this via CMSMS or should I look at a Wordpress integration?

You can use the category tag {news category='newsite'} {news category='thoughts'} {news category='trends'} all on the same page in the same box or where ever, it just has to be a category, which you make in the News module admin, second tab Categories is for making them, then when you Add Article you just pick one you want it to be under...

Excellent stuff :)

I was going to lean towards Wordpress but there's really no point!

The other question is whether I can add an id or a class to style categories in different ways. A common Wordpress trick is to create a headline which can then be styled based on a headline category.
