CMS Made Simple php 8.1

Post by lindawe »

Hello,
I tried to install latest version of CMS Made Simple (as of today) on Apache 2.4 on windows 10 and
PHP 8.1.13 (cli) (built: Nov 22 2022 15:49:14) (ZTS Visual C++ 2019 x64)

I got many deprecated errors, finally not installed.
any idea ? is there any fix for it or workaround ?

Thank you

You may want to try the expanded installer, or wait for the next release (2.2.17). It's currently in testing by the Dev Team now so should be out soon.

At the moment, we're trying to solve an issue with the phar installer, however we're are planning to go ahead with the expanded installer by the end of next week, even if the regular phar isn't solved by then yet. That being the case, the regular phar installer will be released soon after.

My bad, some minor delays, almost there though. We will be able to do the typical release with both options: compact and expanded installers. It's a matter of days now.
I apologize for the delays.

Thank you for the new CMSMS version 2.2.17 including Smarty v4.2.1.

Don't know whether it's the various PHP 8.1 fixes or the new Smarty version, but my website now loads in an instant. ;D

Maybe we could have more frequent CMSMS updates in the future, even if they would "just" contain a new Smarty version update or minor fixes.

That's always the goal, this round has been particularly tough due to various reasons beyond our control. Remember that we're a small group of people volunteering our free time.
