Statistics module generates 2 pageviews per visit

Statistics module generates 2 pageviews per visit

I installed the Statistics module and it looks all very good. But with a lot of resetting and clicking I figured out that when a page is visited, the next page in the hierarchy gets a visit too, without requesting it. What is happening?
