Is this a bug?
The following problems happens regardless of browser. It does it in Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 6. I am using 1.0.7 but this problem has been around for nearly a year I think.
I have the correct permissions set up to both the uploads folder and the images within but I cannot upload files.
When I go to add an image with FCKeditor, everything is fine until I go to "Browse Server."
I click on that button and a big box appears with the code of the website spat back at me with this at the top:
"the server didn't send back a proper XML response"
In the title tag of the code, it says 404 Error.
It appears to have chucked me the code from a 404 page.
when I close this, things look normal again but the upload button does nothing. "Upload in progress, please wait..." appears but it sits there doing nothing.
when I go to Image Manager, I see the 404 error but not as the code this time but parsed and this does not function at all.
I have upgraded the CMS many times so I find it hard to believe it is a missing file.
I use this CMS on other servers configured very differently and get no problems so I know this is not a PHP safe mode problem. The server this problem is occuring has no PHP safe mode restrictions compared to the servers where it does work.
If anyone has any idea on how to resolve this, this would be handy.
Thanks,
Catherine

Re: cannot upload images
Hi Catherine
I too had a nightmare with this- different things seem to work for different people..
see
http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.ph ... 810.0.html
Easiest thing to try first is the upper/lower case folder name suggestion.
I still don't know what fixed mine...

Raquel,
I am not sure what you mean by the upper/lower case names?
I've had a good look at the link sent but I cannot see how that would help because I do not have access to the php.ini file.
Additionally, I cannot easily take down the website either to do downgrades/upgrades to the site.

Re: cannot upload images
I tried the following into the .htaccess file in the admin folder but it did not make any difference:
php_value session.auto_start 1
I have checked and files do upload but its not apparent that it is successful.
Anyone got any ideas please?

Re: cannot upload images
Do you have strange characters in the files you're using, like spaces, is all lowercase? Did you try a standard small file like test.txt.

Re: cannot upload images
The file I have tried to insert is called 'bec2.gif'
However, the errors occur before I even get to the browse and upload button.
I've attached a screenshot of the image manager. When 404 error page is turned on, it shows that instead.

Have you tried tinyMCEditor instead?...
