Tortoise SVN tutorial

Hi,

As the project uses SVN through development it would be really handy to post a tutorial from the user's perspective.

For example I don't need to know how to setup my own repository. All I need to know from a user perspective is how to get the latest file for (e.g. News module) and then how to diff/compare/merge this file(s) into my local CMS directory for testing/upload. And, if I make a mistake or the latest version is no good, hot to revert back to what I had.

I'm not a complete dummy but my experiences so far have been a little scary. Linux users will already be familiar with diff tools but Windows users (especially non-coders) are not.

Please help us help ourselves. Oh, and use screenshots. We LOVE screenshots. :)

I found what seems to be a good starting point here:

So Toirtoise only does downloading of SVN? I thought it had merge and compare tools built-in as well?

I'm soooo confused. And you have PHP 5 installed. You are a hard core haXor, Patricia! :)

OK. I'll give WinMerge a go. Your advice hasn't failed me yet.

A "hard core haXor"  is just a nice way of saying that you are very good at what you do.

Faites- confiance moi. ;)
