You can create custom field(s) and use them to fill in the metadata. This tutorial will be a good start:

I would recommend to use at least the default cmsms htaccess file as you can find in the /docs/ folder
htaccess.txt, rename it in the server root.
It has some general security lines in it and you can use it to create pretty url's.

At Global Settings in the Admin panel you have to select your new theme.
Each user has the same option to select a theme for his liking.
