Re: CMS Partner Modevia disapear

The hosting providers on the old hosting page were added by request.  They were not tested or vetted in any way, and were just put on there becsause they supported CMSMS or at least the minimum requirements to host it. Because we're now int the position of having real hosting partners (which are tes...

Re: Open letter to CMSMS community

It's time to move forward. Both sides have said their peace and instead of this turning into a monster thread that goes really far off-topic and helps no one, we'll be locking (not deleting) this thread on December 25th.  There will be no further response from the development team in this thread.  A...

Re: Open letter to CMSMS community

There are two sides to every story. The readers of this thread are probably wondering why it has taken so long for the Dev team to respond. The reason for this is that we took the time to confer with each other and to discuss how we should respond. We think the forum is not the right place to respon...

Re: Better Module Documentation In The Forge

The forge's code is up on github. I'd love for someone to fork the repo and start making the additions and fixes that we need. There is a list of gems that need to be installed in order for it to work right in the root directory there. If someone needs a dump of the database, I can scrub one and giv...

Re: Separation of CMSMS MLE Fork from cmsmadesimple.org

I apologize for not being involved in this conversation, but I'm currently pulling really long work days in order to keep my head above water.  As usual when that happens, CMSMS has to go to the bottom of my priority list -- it's a an unfortunate fact, but this project doesn't unfortunately pay the ...

Re: why are PHP sessions started?

Honestly, I don't think it's something we should disable.  Except for a spare cookie, it's no overhead in traffic, and only a very small about of processing power.  I think it's going to cause more harm than good to try and make an option that a lot of people might not understand the implications of...

Re: why are PHP sessions started?

The core itself doesn't really use them for the frontend pages.  However, there are plenty of modules that use them (e-commerce for example).  If you're not using modules that need sessions, then you'll probably be fine disabling them, but our module devs rely on them being there under normal circum...

Re: Removal of optional hierarchical URLs - Dissappointing decision

We'll make sure that there are ways in the module API to write a module to duplicate this functionality.  And warn people ahead of time, as well.

Geek Moot 2010 Donation Drive

Reposted from: http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/2010/08/16/Geek-Moot-2010-Donation-Drive/ It’s that time of year again. In order to fund some of the developers travel to the Geek Moot 2010, we’re going to require a bit of supplemental income. We’re looking to fund 3 developers coming over from North Ame...

Re: CMSMS Newsletter

Strange.  I see other people have confirmed their email addresses recently, so I don't think it's the system.

If you PM your email address, I can add it into the system manually.
