Re: Installing on Windows IIS server; permissions problem
Hi Heather Sorry for the time to reply, I got caught up in another forum! When you set the permissions make sure to propagate these downwards, I suspect the PEM control panel does this automatically when you select the top-level folder and change the permissions; but to check select a file below and...

Re: Help: Massive problems getting up and running
But I can create users that have permissions to edit only certain areas of the page can't I - say a news column only? What I need is to provide clients access rights (under login) to certain pages where they can use a WYSIWYG editor to update content. so what's the difference between a portal and CM...

Windows install - ACLs for folders
Hi all OK, installed and all up and running, but now my concerns turn to security. For ease of installation I simply gave all file permissions (excluding Full) to the recommended folders 'tmp' etc for the IUSR account, but how does chmod 755 translate? i.e. I don't understand the correlation of 'g...

Re: Books - online training?
Hi Guys, Special thanks to Kermit for his superb and truly informative post - really appreciated. Of course to Pierre too. In fact I learn best by struggling and doing virtually everything you said Kermit, 'Google is my friend' in fact everyone's! In fact with limited CMS knowledge I have successf...

Re: Books - online training?
Hi and thanks for the reply.
Of course this would be the most sensible and correct approach, but can CMSMS be used with minimal CSS and if so, how?
Thanks
Lea

Books - online training?
Hi all Just created my first few pages (and site) in CMSMS and as my understanding of cms is limited it was a little tricky with a 'test it and see' approach, rather than know how do achieve something from the ground up. This type of approach always leaves me thinking I want to learn css but don't y...
