Re: Do I need to learn wordpress?

Thanks for the replies, guys. It's good to hear that CMSMS is still going strong. I'm not a developer but a dabbler and learned heaps about CMSMS over the years. It's great for users - way less complicated than Wordpress. Typically, I've installed free or templates bought from Darko at CMS Template ...

Do I need to learn wordpress?

Sorry guys, but I have to ask. By the look of the support forums there is very little activity compared to a few years ago and my fear is that my choice of CMS is going the same path as BETA videotapes. VHS was an inferior product but the one chosen by the market. I hope this is not the case. I neve...

Upgrade of 1.10.3 "Hyacinthe"

Hi - I read Digi's comment that it is possible to upgrade from any version to the latest. I built a website a few years ago for a local community club and kept it updated until the upgrade to 2 put the fear of god into me. I absolutely need to update now and was thinking of copying the site to a doc...

Re: Changing Domain Name

If anyone is interested - yes this worked fine.

Other site-based modules needed to be updated, including formbuilder, cmsmailer and sitemapmadesimple.

All good.

Cheers,

Re: Changing Domain Name

Thanks guys, It looks to me that the config.php file doesn't need to be changed because it's only a few lines: <?php # CMS Made Simple Configuration File # Documentation: /doc/CMSMS_config_reference.pdf # $config['dbms'] = 'mysqli'; $config['db_hostname'] = 'localhost'; $config['db_username'] = 'xxx...

Changing Domain Name

Hi, I've read the post from Sandaha and reply from Veldun regarding changing the domain name. I'm using CMSMS 1.11.10 and one of Darko Tomic's templates tpl-buddy-004 and from what I've read it seems fairly clear that all I have to do is change the site name in Site Admin/Global Settings/General Set...

[Fixed] CMSMS forum not available from some IP addresses

I'm currently logged in to the forum using a remote desktop connection to another computer (one of my customers)(they know, so it's ok!) because I can't log into the forum from my normal computer. http:\\forum.cmsmadesimple.org brings up a page that says "Forbidden you don't have permission to ...

Re: 500 Internal Server Error

Hi Rolf and Jos, Thanks for the assistance, your time and suggestions. Our website host have restored the site, but couldn't/wouldn't explain what caused the issue. On the initial call to them, the first level support person told me that it looked like all the folders had somehow been shuffled. I ha...

Re: 500 Internal Server Error

Hi Jos,

Interestingly, there a two printing modules
cmsprinting, and
printing.

So I've renamed them both by adding "_old"

Thanks for your idea.

Just checked it and the server error page is still there for admin and public.

Cheers,

Felix

Re: 500 Internal Server Error

Hi Rolf, Config.php paths all look ok to me. # CMS Made Simple Configuration File # Documentation: /doc/CMSMS_config_reference.pdf # $config['php_memory_limit'] = ''; $config['process_whole_template'] = false; $config['debug'] = true; $config['output_compression'] = false; $config['timezone'] = 'Aus...

[Solved] 500 Internal Server Error

Hi all, Our website has been off the air for 24 hours and I've asked our web hosting company to restore it, but I'm not sure if it's their issue or mine. We haven't done anything to the website - nobody has been logged in, it just decided to go ape... I cannot get in the front end nor to the admin s...

Re: [Solved] Internet Explorer 9 and compatibility mode

Hi all, Thanks DrCSS - I'm working my way through that list! Jos - the templates were standard CMSMS ones and they do have the {metadata} tag. Maybe the issue was the pretty urls but for some reason the issue seems to have resolved and IE9 now views the pictures correctly, (although it still shows t...

Re: Internet Explorer 9 and compatibility mode

Hi DrCSS, I've checked some of the non-appearing images for spaces etc and I don't think that is the issue. I've tried changing some of the image names and included hyphens and it hasn't fixed the problem. Here are some hyperlinks: It's really weird - images on the front page work fine, but images o...
