Re: Dealing with footnotes in Word documents

NOTE: If you have your footnote in bold or italic, then that will change the html that CMSMS produces for Word. The macro and the FSO-FRedit_list.docx assume there are no

Re: Improved Method Dealing with footnotes in Word documents

Update, if you have got this far The method above works. It just takes a lot of fiddly cut and paste. It also results in the following shape of footnotes: 1. Cf. Mark 6:43, Mark 8:8 (Back) where Back is the hyperlink back to the place in the main text. 1. I have updated this so that th...

Dealing with footnotes in Word documents

Any one who does long form documents in Word knows the powerful endnote and footnote facility which allows users of the document to click and jump from text to footnote and back. Converting that to an html document is not simple or tidy. I've often simply removed the links and let people scroll manu...

Heads up on pasting long docs from Word

Something I noticed: I habitually write long form documents in Word (2021, currently) with the only formatting being, italics, superscript for footnotes, and bold. I paste this into CMSMADESIMPLE and then add in blockquotes as required, and recreate the superscript. So no use of headings etc If I am...

Re: Upgrade cPanel to PHP 8.1 and CMSMS fails

Jo and DIG13: no joy yet. Currently have a support request in with the host re your suggestion of giving them the error message (which has been identical no matter what I've disabled or uninstalled.) Andrew

Re: Upgrade cPanel to PHP 8.1 and CMSMS fails

It occurred to me that I could rename all the CGmodules at the one time, to make things a bit quicker. The site works perfectly where those modules are not in use in a template. So I upgraded cPanel to PHP8.1 and the working pages immediately went to a blank white page. So not the CG modules. I remo...

Upgrade cPanel to PHP 8.1 and CMSMS fails

I'm having to upgrade to php 8.11 so that other software on my server can run (due to server upgrades by my hosting company.) I am not able to get my CMS Simple to run on 8.1. As soon as I set cPanel to PHP8.1 the public facing website and the backend simply present me with a white page. We are talk...

Endless scrolling breaks self links

Lazy Loading. With a lot of help from Matt Hornsby, whom I'm giving a rest :) I have been able to get endless scrolling working inone of his templates. It uses Rolf''s code from CMSCanBeSimple. https://cmscanbesimple.org/blog/cmsms-modules-and-endless-scrolling I've just realised that it kills cms s...

Re: Tiny keeps changing my typing

Thanks. It is also happening on the new clean site so it may be worth my submitting something. I will first of all do it with one of the designs that comes with the CMSMS installation phar, just in case there is something that is odd with the Portage Design from the easythemes.ca which is on the CMS...

Re: Tiny keeps changing my typing

Thank you. A very nice idea... but no joy. Can't get it to work like that. :( For anyone interested, it seems like my best option is to 1. Go into the original content page file, or news file, using the WYSIWYG interface. 2. Remove float and %width from the image file. 3. Then go to the source code ...

Re: Tiny keeps changing my typing

Hmmm. I can get it with Tiny or TinyMCE in both my production site and on a test site which is on another server from another host. Doesn't seem to make any difference how I put it in. If I correct it, sometimes it "takes," and sometimes it doesn't... This is my (typical code) <div class=&...

Re: [SOLVED] No Module Manager after Smart Image install

I noticed in the system information that my php version was not version 8, to which I had set cPanel earlier today. Didn't 'take' apparently. Now all seems good after resetting it!

[SOLVED] No Module Manager after Smart Image install

I have lost my Module Manager after trying to add the Smart Image Module. I get a white screen with only the following text: Notice The versions displayed here represent the latest XML files uploaded to the CMSMS module repository. They may or may not represent the latest available versions. Additio...
