Re: Cannot upgrade very old CMSMS site (1.11.x to 2)
That is what the error message suggested to me, but I went through every stinking file I have on four portable drives (I am a pack rat and I keep even old distros of CMSs all the way back to 1.1.3, as well as archived copies of client installs), and the file did not appear in any of them or in anyth...

Cannot upgrade very old CMSMS site (1.11.x to 2)
I have been given the task of updating a very old (1.11.4) version of CMSMS on a web site. I know I have to carefully upgrade in increments, but I cannot even get that to work properly. When I uploaded the first set of distro files (1.11.13), it complained about a deprecated function, so I downgrade...

Re: CMSMS version 1 vs. CMSMS version 2
That's what I suspected. I need to check her hosting. I believe she's using 5.6, but hopefully there's a way to change her version to PHP 7. Thanks

CMSMS version 1 vs. CMSMS version 2
I have a client whose site I developed many years ago and it's currently running CMSMS 1.11.7. It doesn't use a lot of complicated modules, just a calendar, contact form and media player. I approached her about upgrading to CMSMS2 citing the fact that it's always best to have the latest versions of ...

Anyone interested in taking over WeLoveCMSMS.com?
As you may or may not know. I had been curating a CMSMS showcase site at WeLoveCMSMS.com. However, my health and other obligations won't let me keep up with the site anymore and it would be nice if someone were able to take it over. I'd make arrangements to transfer ownership of the domain welovecms...

Fresh Installs of San Cristobal on Server Act Weird
I installed several instances of CMSMS San Cristobal (1.11.11) on two subdomains and the main domain of a site. The first odd thing I noticed was that the Theme Manager had no way to allow deletion of unused themes. File Manager acted oddly as well. There were checkmarks along the right side, but no...

One-Click Install of CMSMS?
I was Googling to find some articles about CMSMS and found this, that appears to be a link to a webhost that offers a one-click install of CMSMS. I didn't think that was possible.

Re: Updated Comparison between CMS Made Simple and WordPress
I will carefully consider Alex's well thought out comments in a future update. Admittedly I haven't been working with CMSMS (2007) as long as WP (2004), but anyone claiming that WP cannot be used (easily I might add) as a CMS doesn't understand WP at all. I use them both, about 35/65, CMSMS/WP. I pu...
