Re: CMSms what happens next? Development? PHP Problems? What does the future look like?

The team's developers work for free, and I thank them for that. Since Calguy's departure, the number of fixes made has been significantly reduced. They clearly have busy schedules that keep them permanently away from CMSMS. This isn't a criticism; it's a fact. A developer is doing hard work of a pre...

Re: Upgrading a very old version

Hello,

This might indeed be a bit complicated.
Depending on the specifics (no longer maintained modules, etc.), if the site has few pages, reintegrating its content into a new installation with the latest version of CMSMS seems less risky to me.

Re: CMSms what happens next? Development? PHP Problems? What does the future look like?

Hello Jo, Upgrading to a recent version of Smarty will pose some compatibility issues for CMSMS, but with proper guidance, there are solutions. You might know already, there is a CMSMS-core version progressed by former devteam member (tomphantoo) and tested extensively by me. That version that works...

Re: CMSms what happens next? Development? PHP Problems? What does the future look like?

Hello Jo, No one questions the team's goodwill. The development delay is obvious, whether it concerns the core or the main modules. This question will therefore come as no surprise. I am the first to support a fairly conservative approach to avoid breaking everything and promote good backward compat...

Re: TinyCME is not working after installation

Hello Chrisbt Sorry if I seem a bit harsh, but "coming soon" started on November 8, 2023. Since then, we've been getting this answer regularly. What people come here for are answers, not vague promises. No one will mind, Chrisbt, if you say you have no idea when the module will be updated....

Indicate Php version supported for each module

Every module developer should clearly indicate the supported php version for each available module (i.e. without any deprecated elements). Since the move to Github is imminent (I am a bit wary of this term) this would be an excellent idea, which can be easily implemented. This is obviously already t...

Re: TinyMCE

Hello, I've had this type of response a number of times here. Either this CMS is free as well as its modules and it is voluntary or it is not. All the contributors here know perfectly well that you can make a donation to one of the contributors. Coming to suggest it insistently is in my opinion not ...

Re: Securing CMS Made Simple Against Recent Vulnerabilities

Hello, Creopard is right. Low level server protection does very good job. You can additionaly change the name of the administration directory and protect it with authentication with .htacces easily. I found this code that allows a bit of filtering on URLs and that works well. You have to integrate i...

Re: TinyMCE

Is a TinyMCE update still on the cards?
I know the difficulties related to the necessary backwards compatibility of CMSMS on a Wamp system. Tom's (unofficial) version is so far ahead in terms of development, asking him to look into this co-compatibility story might not be totally stupid.

Possibility to copy url

Hello,

I would like to have the ability to copy the url of an image or file from the file manager. It would be a real plus (especially without a page maker mike Divi). Development doesn't have to be very complicated. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Re: FilePicker preview image?

I'm hoping for a bulk solution at some point Hello Digi 3, I think many of us have been waiting for this little improvement for a long time. As the latest version of CMSMS is a bit late, perhaps it would be time to talk about it? Note the generation of thumbnails can consume a lot of resources on t...

Re: List most downloaded modules

Thank you Digi 3,

This could have been interesting, for example, to refocus development for the migration to PHP 8.2 of the 30 most used modules (presumably this should cover 95% of CMSMS uses). Afterwards, those who use more exotic modules can always contact the developers for information.
