I had the same problem on 1and1 server.  I tried adding these attributes to .htaccess and it worked great.

I am in the same boat.  I have GoDaddy hosting, and I have cmsms setup on a different site that is GoDaddy too, and it works just fine.    Like herbshirt, I have been researching and researching, and I have been unable to figure it out. Any suggestions anyone?

I think I will give that a shot.  I tried 1.08 and had the same problem, but maybe I need to go further back.  It is a strange situation that I think I would rather just take the easier road out of and switch servers.

There did not seem to be a problem in install/index.php.  It seemed to be running.  So I figured it was in install/lib/classes/CMSinstaller.class.php or in smarty.class.php.  I tried a few things in those classes, but I could not narrow down where the problem was.  I think I will save some of my tim...

Thank you Simon, but unfortunately that did not change anything.  I made the proper edit to the file, and inserted your patch in the proper place, but I am still getting, "install/index.php?sessiontest=1&" when I go to root/install.

I was trying to move my cmsms site from the cmsms folder to the root of my site so that I could go live with it.  Ofcourse without reading how to I thought I could just copy all the files into root folder.  Well, when I did the site crashed...
