Hi. Based on my experience with CMSMadeSimple, it depends on many factors (customization, modules used, etc).
My upgrade method: leave only the database, delete old files, install new version, upgrade the CMS, update modules (if needed).

Upgrade 1.04 to 1.05/1.06 broke the Search Templates
Hello. Today I updated my 1.0.4 installation to 1.0.5 and after that to 1.0.6 using the diffs (cmsmadesimple-diff-1.0.4-1.0.5, cmsmadesimple-diff-1.0.5-1.0.6). To my surprise, the Search Templates reverted to the default :( Any ideea how to recover them ? I do have a backup for files, but I don't ha...

I've created a few pages and used a modular design, with large part of them in blocks, for an easier editing and maintaining.

Hello I had about same problem ... until I realize it's ... somehow correct :) The news page you create is using Summary Template. When you click [more] ... you will use Detail Template. The same template is used for the home page and for News page. Maybe a solution is to modify the Summary Template...
