Calendar Recurring Events Display
I have a situation where I have a calendar full of recurring events - art exhibits that run 45 days, for example. In the Upcoming List, I would like to show only the parent event and not the children, but on the master calendar I do want all the days filled in. I see that there is a parent child r...

Re: IMPORTANT for Documentation Team
Everyone who PMd me their info should have a Basecamp account and received the login info by email. If you need an account and haven't PMd me, please do so. If you did PM me and haven't gotten an email, also let me know. We are ctively discussing structure, planning, approach and really getting mo...

Re: IMPORTANT for Documentation Team
Interesting read, and it certainly affirms we are making the right decision. We are definitely looking for a done/not done approach, rather than a this task is 36% complete. No one has time to do hard care project managing in a project like this.

Re: IMPORTANT for Documentation Team
We've looked at OS solutions, they are all clunkier. Ted made the call on Basecamp as the tool of choice for CMS overall.

IMPORTANT for Documentation Team
We are going to be using Basecamp to manage this project. If you haven't used it before, it is a very simple yet flexible project management system that is going to help us all. We have the ability to manage Contacts, a To Do List, Message Center, Writeboards, and Chat. While we have variations o...

Re: Documentation Project - Update and Call for Volunteers
Nullig & all volunteers - I am just starting to put the various pieces in motion here, so project management is a great question. We have discussed scheduling a meeting to organize ourselves as well as get some other pieces in place. DaveW was kind enough to set up a dotProject install to eval...

Documentation Project - Update and Call for Volunteers
We are moving forward with the revamp of the documentation project! I have taken the role of Lead on this project and DaveW will be Vice-Lead. The major objectives will be to move the documentation into the structure of a CMSMS website and make it accurate, complete, and easy to use. This clearly ...

Re: Relaunch of documentation project
@westis Can you elaborate on this statement? 2) Decide on the structure of the documentation (good ideas already suggested in this thread) While I realize we need a little bit of structure to get started, I was thinking the flexibility in CMS would mean not spending a lot of up front time on this. ...

Re: Relaunch of documentation project
I would love to see CMS all the way through if it could be done for familiarity of use, everything in one place (so to speak), easy to associate and cross link content, etc. It is also easier (I think) to make CMS attractive and user friendly.

Re: Relaunch of documentation project
So it sounds like things are coming together, which is excellent. I will do my best to join the meeting tomorrow and onward we go.
It sounds like the next steps are getting organized and making some decisions. Does anyone have an early input on wiki vs. CMS itself?

Re: Relaunch of documentation project
Well it appears we have consensus and interest in tackling the relaunch of the documentation project. Time for some practical questions, the biggest of which is should this be a CMS site of a wiki? I personally have always leaned toward a CMS site, as wikis seem to ring a tremendous amount of visua...

Re: Relaunch of documentation project
I don't really know what practical next steps are, or if the dev team is even interested in my offer. This is the third time I have offered services for this project, the previous two by email, and then just go nowhere and I am not sure why.

Re: Relaunch of documentation project
I would volunteer to be a documentation overlord. I am very very challenged by the current format, and have often considered creating my own CMS site with notes and examples gleaned from the forums and current documentation. My life experience as a director of application development teams and the...
