Re: Formbuilder: exclude select menu items after given date
Thanks for your reply, Calguy. The form has previously been updated annually: replacing the previous years events with those for the upcoming. Listing expired events may be confusing for end users, so the requirement is to remove them as they expire, without manual editing of the list. The form was ...

Formbuilder: exclude select menu items after given date
I have a form set up for visitors to enquire about events occurring during the current year. The events are selected from a dropdown select menu, populated by a ***Field.class.php file that I've added. It works fine, but I'm wondering if there is a way for events to only be included in the select me...

Simple GCB Scheduling Plugin? [solved]
Occasionally I need to add temporary content alerting visitors to something that will cease to be relevant on a certain date. For this I create a Global Content Block and manually add and remove it from the relevant page. Is there an easy way to schedule a GCB to be removed on a given day e.g. not d...

Re: EU privacy cookie directive
Thanks for your comprehensive explanation Calguy.
Can you foresee any circumstances in which an opt-in function for cookies would be considered important for inclusion within the CMSMS core or as an extension? If evidence of legal proceedings begin to emerge, for example?

Re: EU privacy cookie directive
Realistically, if any legal action is taken it will be preceded by a request for a statement of intent i.e. what action the offender intends to take in order to comply, and the time scale. Therefore, as immediate penalties are not threatened, the vast majority of sites will probably do nothing until...

Thanks for your reply, winkelman.
Can you tell me how to configure CMSMS to prevent the cookie from being set?
EDIT: as you've since deleted your post, I guess not.

Re: EU privacy cookie directive
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the use of session cookies, particularly when that session cookie only contains a single string that does not contain any personal information. So CMSMS is completly legal to use in the EU. The question is not whether the setting of certain cookies makes CMSMS...

Re: Events booking - not quite ecommerce
Thanks Zoorlat.
I've just been trying the e-commerce suite and the combination of Products, Cart, Orders, CGEcommerceBase, CGExtensions, CGPaymentGatewayBase, FrontEndUsers looks very promising.
Stock sounds a good suggestion so will check that out too.

Re: Events booking - not quite ecommerce
At first sight, Availability doesn't seem suitable. The events in question are tuition courses that may be a single day or up to 12 individual days spread over a number of months. The module appears geared for single events of continuous duration, and unable to manage a single multi-day event that c...

Events booking - not quite ecommerce
A site I'm working on needs to enable visitors to book events, but the client does not wish to provide online payments at this time. The details of the booking simply need to be sent to the client and customer and payment will be taken by phone or cheque. So, it's basically a shopping cart without p...

Formbuilder - dynamic field duplication
One section of my form has a group of three pulldowns relating to booking an event. I want to provide an option for the user to add additional sections if they wish to book multiple events. Apart from the different type of fields used, the #duplicate3 example of this jQuery dynamic form plugin shows...
