I have posted the changes that I have done to the Forge hoping for the DEV team to incorporate them to a release. I have tested all functionality of mlecms with cmsms v2 and it works fine. Unfortunately it doesn't work with older versions of cmsms (1.12), hopefully the DEV team will test it? Anyway ...

When childrenof is set, excludeprefix is not working, same goes when start_page is set. Is that the desired behavior?

Also when start_page is set collapse="1" is not working.

Yes, google translate is maybe an option for a personal blog or something but not for a professional web page I think. The thing is, more and more customers are asking for multilingual sites these days especially in Europe and i think going multilingual for cmsms is the way forward.
