I would have moved it outside of that group of pages then deactivated it as it may be getting called in some link that is screwing everything, make sure it's not getting called in any links other than the menu before doing this... 1. 1.6.1 is not supported, so you should be upgrading to latest and greatest as soon as possible.  (I know this doesn't help you in your current situation.) 2.  Do you have a link to the problem page?  Can you still open the page in the admin panel?
