Re: A small guide to restore default file permissions and owner on CMSMS filesys
I'm in the process of setting up my first CMSMS site and did an FTP install using Filezilla (see http://filezilla-project.org/ ) which has a utility to change permissions for directories and / or files... it seems like an easier option! I have done some searching but is there a definitive guide to w...

[solved] Pretty URLs & Server Error 500
Hi, I am developing a new website on my local machine prior to moving it to my web host. I am trying to get pretty urls working through mod_rewrite and have followed the instructions provided here: http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/User_Handbook/Installation/Optional_Settings and copied and pa...

Re: News Module & CSS Problem
Thanks, unfortunately this is running under XAMP on my local machine. Sorry, no link... its running on my local machine :-[ I have been able to get this working (sort of) with another part of the page. The sort of is because the image works correctly (ie it changes on hover) but it is only displaye...

News Module & CSS Problem
I am currently stuck trying to implement some different styles for the news module; I am new to CMSMS and have used CSS previously but only in table based layouts. With the CSS I want to use this approach that I found online; it adjusts the position of the background image on hover, the image includ...

News Module - Problem changing CSS [solved]
Hi, I am trying to change the presentation of the headlines for items in the news module and have hit the wall of my CMSMS and CSS knowledge (not that achieving this was too hard as I am new to both). I don't seem to be able to change the way that links to my news items are rendered. I have tried ma...

Re: Newbie question - Listing of child items
Thx for the response; I looked at sitemap but it does'nt, at first galnce, seem to allow any extra attributes to be presented... I am keen to display more than the page title. Does anyone know whether there is a way to use Cataloger and return more than title, link and image in the array of child it...

Re: Custom Content & Font End users - content not hidden
mmm, how do you propose two areas for editing? At the moment there is only one area. Given the option I would like custom attributes for page content... this would make using custom content easy and allow a lot more flexibility for sites that seek greater control over presentation of content. As it ...

Re: Custom Content & Font End users - content not hidden
Thanks, I guess the issue is sorted; I assume most other users work directly in the editor (as opposed to WYSIWYG). I guess I'm not the first to strike this issue though. I was using the default FCKeditorX and note there are a number of others available in CMSMS Forge; is it a safe assumption that a...

Re: Custom Content & Font End users - content not hidden
Thanks; I have discovered I can resolve it by viewing the page source, pasting the customcontent and then reverting to the normal view. The sections that I have inserted to date have been pasted in and become "<!-- test -->". Although even typing "<!--" is translated into "<...

Re: Custom Content & Font End users - content not hidden
Hi back, thanks for the quick response. I pasted the code into a new page and a template that I have'nt used before... still no success! The installation I have has got a number of modules in it; I'm wondering whether there is a conflict somewhere that is triggered before the page is rendered. [atta...

Custom Content & Font End users - content not hidden
I am currently evaluating CMSMS and have I'm practically sold! I am stuck on one thing at the moment: I have installed Front End Users 1.04 and Custom Content 1.4.0. I am unable to get Custom Content to work in pages... it works fine if I put it in the template! I have carefully looked at the syntax...

Re: Newbie question - Listing of child items
Thanks for the response; I had'nt considered that approach. In the meantime I found the cataloger module which (almost) provides what I am looking for and also allows me custom attributes which is a real bonus. I do need to figure how to change it to return additional data though. I will give it a t...

Newbie question - Listing of child items
Hi, I have just started to try CMS in anger - v cool! One item I have not been able to find is a means to provide a listing of child / sub pages for a given page. Ideally the list would include the title, description and provide for a hyperlink to the page. This would be like the bullet menu tag but...
