Re: 2.3 news ?

My sympathies to the developers who presumably wasted many hours on 2.3 which now looks like it will not see production. Definitely a lesson to be learnt here in terms of project planning.

Testing for "Show in Menu"

What's the best way to test within a Page Template whether "Show in Menu" is enabled please?

Re: Caching problem, If-modified-since and Last-modified

Thanks, unchecking "cachable" does indeed solve the issue.

This default behaviour seems undesirable, especially as the "If-modified-since" date seemed to be compared against the modification date of index.php and not the content itself!

Re: Caching problem, If-modified-since and Last-modified

In my web server logs I noticed my website was giving "304 Not Modified" responses to Googlebot, hence my investigation. I tested it on https://www.cmsmadesimple.org/ and it behaves in exactly the same way as my own website, it sends "Last-modified" and respects "If-modified-since" when sent. So wha...

Caching problem, If-modified-since and Last-modified

I've noticed my site is sending the Last-modified header and sending 304 responses when the If-modified-since header is sent with requests. This is not desirable as crawlers are keeping stale data. Is there any way to disable this behaviour? Demo on the CMSMS website: GET /about/foundation/ HTTP/1.1...

Re: Search module results

Thanks, I should have checked the parameters, "inline" is what I wanted.

I can presumably add the search form to the search results template if desired.

Search module results

When I do I site search with the Search module the results are displayed on an empty page.

Is there any way of displaying the results on the page where the search was performed, along with a search box for additional searches?

Re: News slug

Thanks. There's no way of enabling pretty URLs just for the News module I assume?

News slug

I have created a news "slug" for a News article but I am unsure what format the url should be in order to utilise it. I am not using pretty urls.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Re: Admin Security

I don't even have a user called "admin", so they failed at the first hurdle.

Actually, yes. Plenty of "admin" login attempts starting Feb 11, I've not noticed this before.

Source IP range ranges are 212.156.0.0/18 (TurkTelekom) and 213.248.148.0/24 (Vodafone Net DSL Block - MANISA).

Re: Error message when submitting content page

Some of the structure on my database (which was initialised many versions ago) was different to the fresh install. I changed the table from InnoDB to MyISAM and created a new index, but I think what fixed it is switching the collation from latin1_swedish_ci to utf8_general_ci. Curious as to why I on...

Re: Error message when submitting content page

Pasting identical content into a clean install does not produce the error.

Any ideas on how I can fix my existing installation?

Re: Error message when submitting content page

The server is setting utf-8 in the content header. Nothing unusual in my setup that I'm aware of. I disabled WYSIWYG on the page and it still occurs. It appears to be all unicode characters generating it. If I delete ← from the content, some Japanese symbols later in the page trigger the error....
