Re: getting logged out
I finally asked my host about it. They dropped a huge (38k) php.ini file in my folder that seems to have solved the problem. Though honestly I haven't had to do a lot of editing since then, and I really have no idea what in that huge file may have solved the problem.

Re: getting logged out
We still haven't found a fix here. I've done everything on the client side I can think of - different browser, clearing the cache, deleting cookies. At first I thought deleting cookies helped, but eventually it started happening again. I've been thinking of giving my host a login and asking them, bu...

Re: Which CMS to use
I spent a lot of time reading at http://www.packtpub.com/2008-open-source-cms-award-finalists prior to installing a cmsms. Note that, once you start getting into a lot of customer participation (like polls), you may want a forum, not a cms. We use cmsms on our website but our vBulletin forum generat...

This would be more useful in the future if you noted exactly what you did to solve the problem.

getting logged out
After this most recent upgrade to 1.5.2, none of my editors can stay logged in long enough to do anything. Including myself. Seems like we have time to get in one quick change, then we're back at the login screen.
Anyone have a clue to a fix?
TIA

Make sure it's not just the now notorious permissions error:

Re: Admin site access when site is marked as "down"
I've always wondered why none of the upgrading instructions turn off the cms first. Is that what this button is supposed to be for? If so, it should be clearly labeled "Turn off the cms and display this message".

Re: [solved]Tinymce unavailable
In the face of more and tighter server security these days, I wonder if there's any reason these (and other) folders can't be 755 right out of the box? Or changed to 755 automatically? Or at least a notice pop up during install to tell us to manually change the perms?

Re: vB Integration ? and wiki possibility?
I dunno. We use VBulletin as our main app, and the CMS only for taking care of the web content. I don't see any big advantage to letting all my users on as editors in the CMS. In fact, lots of disadvantages - like having to chase around after them posting badly written articles. Or worse, posting ar...

Re: Tinymce unavailable
Make sure it's not a permissions error. See the wiki: http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/User_Handbook/Admin_Panel/Extensions/Modules/TinyMCE I wonder if there's a page somewhere that lists what all the perms should be? Seems I see a lot of these errors, sometimes apparently cropping up on thei...

Don't forget if he's on shared hosting then he's probably not allowed to stream his own videos; he'll have to link them from somewhere else.

Re: TinyMCE don't show up after importing database
Okay, nothing to do with importing databases, but since this thread is at the top of a search... I just want to note that on some servers (like mine), you need to set perms correctly to see TinyMCE. It's in the wiki: http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/User_Handbook/Admin_Panel/Extensions/Module...

Re: Import existing site?
Thanks for the link. Quite a read, though it really has little to do with the question of how to import a site without having to manually import each page one at a time. The author actually seems to have an important point to make about starting a CMS in an existing site. A shame they couldn't have ...

Import existing site?
We're just starting to investigate converting our site to a CMS, but one seemingly obvious question has so far eluded all my searches. How can we (or can we?) import our existing html site? Mostly just pictures and HTML from Frontpage (no CSS or other fancy stuff). We have hundreds of pages, so we r...
