Re: CGGoogleMaps / Google Maps API
Thanks DIGI3. I have invested 20 Great British Pounds and now have a map. Soon it might even show my own data rather than the demo. It's a great start.

Re: CGGoogleMaps / Google Maps API
Ha! I worked that out two minutes ago, and popped along here to say that I'd made the connection. Thanks for beating me to it. I think that answers my question: “Is this a reputable supplier?”.

Re: CGGoogleMaps / Google Maps API
Thank you both. My use of Google Maps sounds a lot like MantaPro's: three or four maps, 20 or 30 static POIs marked by a selection of different icons, with pop-ups showing text and photos. One of the maps displays a boundary as a KML file. CGGoogleMaps made all that very easy, but as DIGI3 says it's...

Re: Quick PHP 8 fix for MenuManager please!
Thanks DIGI3, and apologies for breaking that rule – which makes perfect sense. I'll get to grips with Navigator. I inherited the original MenuManager template in 2009 as part of a complete site design, so I have never needed to understand it. This will be a useful learning experience.

Re: CGGoogleMaps / Google Maps API
As a non-coder I would love to see a new module that makes it easy to use either Google Maps or preferably OSM. I don't think I'm up to working directly with Google's API. I've had good success with CGGoogleMaps2 until now, but in my testing it doesn't work with PHP 8.0 and that is going to be a sig...

Re: Quick PHP 8 fix for MenuManager please!
Thank you very much indeed! That works. Now the errors have moved to old modules like CGGoogleMaps – but it's progress :-)

Quick PHP 8 fix for MenuManager please!
I would be very grateful if someone could tell me how to patch the MenuManager module to work with PHP 8. The "each" at line 111: while (list($key) = each($children)) { breaks the site. I tried: foreach( $children as $key ) { without success. I know I should probably be using Navigator ins...

Re: Solved: Internal Page Link: has the destination page picker changed?
Apologies. It's selectable in User Preferences, I see. I've never needed to touch this before, and the update to 2.2.16 must have changed it somehow.

Solved: Internal Page Link: has the destination page picker changed?
For Internal Page Links, has the method of choosing the destination page changed recently? I thought that previously the dropdown picker showed page aliases. Many apologies if I'm imagining this. Currently (2.2.16) it definitely shows page titles. This is important to me because my site contains a l...

Re: How To: Auto-fill News URL field
Glad to be of help! Never did I think that an experienced CMSMS user could learn from me.
Your approach still has value for producing absolutely clean URLs. That would be good for blogging, I should think.

Re: How To: Auto-fill News URL field
Honestly I've no idea why it's like that. The site has been going for ten years and has changed hosting company twice in that time. I set up pretty URLs right at the start and it's always worked well. With mod_rewrite: <ifModule rewrite_module> RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f Re...

Re: Problem with server time settings
Thanks so much, and sorry for not RTFM.
I did previously see Gregory Prosser's comment beneath that article, and I tried setting it to "1" (and "0"). That just broke the site.
"true" it is, then, and all looks good now. Much appreciated.

Problem with server time settings
Could someone give me some advice about server times, please? When I post a new news article, it doesn't appear in the sidebar until after a delay. I'm in England, where we recently changed to daylight saving time. That seems to be the problem, but I don't know how to fix it. I tried the diagnostics...

Re: How To: Auto-fill News URL field
Hi Christine, I haven't tried your method but this looks to be a worthwhile thing to do, and the article seems to explain the process clearly.
FWIW my own pretty URLs don't have the "/d,news-detail" bit at the end. I can live with the numbers in the middle.
