Re: How To: Auto-fill News URL field

Glad to be of help! Never did I think that an experienced CMSMS user could learn from me.

Your approach still has value for producing absolutely clean URLs. That would be good for blogging, I should think.

Re: How To: Auto-fill News URL field

Honestly I've no idea why it's like that. The site has been going for ten years and has changed hosting company twice in that time. I set up pretty URLs right at the start and it's always worked well. With mod_rewrite: <ifModule rewrite_module> RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f Re...

Re: Problem with server time settings

Thanks so much, and sorry for not RTFM.

I did previously see Gregory Prosser's comment beneath that article, and I tried setting it to "1" (and "0"). That just broke the site.

"true" it is, then, and all looks good now. Much appreciated.

Problem with server time settings

Could someone give me some advice about server times, please? When I post a new news article, it doesn't appear in the sidebar until after a delay. I'm in England, where we recently changed to daylight saving time. That seems to be the problem, but I don't know how to fix it. I tried the diagnostics...

Re: How To: Auto-fill News URL field

Hi Christine, I haven't tried your method but this looks to be a worthwhile thing to do, and the article seems to explain the process clearly.

FWIW my own pretty URLs don't have the "/d,news-detail" bit at the end. I can live with the numbers in the middle.

Thanks. I'll do it manually.

Re: MySQL tables may lack primary keys

Have you tried doing an upgrade, even if it is the same version, maybe that might fix/add these missing items..? Thank you. I will try this when I have time. This database has seen many CMSMS upgrades over the years, and looking at the code in the installer code I think it's unlikely that it will c...

Re: MySQL tables may lack primary keys

Hosting company was not very helpful, which is fair enough since it turns out the version I exported from the previous hosting company lacked keys too. This database is ten years old and has been successively upgraded since CMSMS 1.x. Running CREATE TABLE across the whole DB shows 62 differences bet...

Re: MySQL tables may lack primary keys

Thanks very much. I get: CREATE TABLE `cms_module_news` ( `news_id` int(11) NOT NULL, `news_category_id` int(11) DEFAULT NULL, `news_title` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `news_data` text, `news_date` datetime DEFAULT NULL, `summary` text, `start_time` datetime DEFAULT NULL, `end_time` datetime DEFAULT ...

MySQL tables may lack primary keys

I have a working install of CMSMS 2.2.10 but I believe none of my database tables has a primary key. Or at least if they do it's not marked as such. If that's true, should I change something? The background is that I planned to use a search-and-replace script to update the styles and CSS classes ass...

Re: cms_selflink for nonexistent alias points to root url

@velden, many thanks for such a helpful reply. My PHP and Smarty skills aren't up to the fix you hinted at, though I did have a go. And the workaround on the page itself isn't really useful unless I rewrite the existing plugin for TinyMCE, since I have users who rely on the toolbar button. This isn'...

Re: Session ID problem and fix

Just to confirm, I now have those settings in place (and confirmed via 'ini_get') but the problem of crashing out of TinyMCE persists. The CMSSESSIDxxxx cookie remains the same; deleting it fixes the problem till next time. The other session key (the much longer one) is cleared properly when I sign ...

Re: Session ID problem and fix

Thank you arnoud. I tried adding this to config.php but no success so far. Can I look at the CMSSESS… cookie to tell whether it's working? At the moment its value stays the same, even when I close the window and reopen it. I'm guessing that since it is a session cookie I should be able to watch it c...

Re: Session ID problem and fix

I seem to have a problem with session cookies that looks as though it may be related to the original report. It occurs when adding a {CMSMS_selflink} tag in TinyMCE, using the toolbar button. Trying to save or cancel crashes out to the login screen. Clearing the session cookie ("CMSSESSIDxxxxx") fix...

cms_selflink for nonexistent alias points to root url

When used with an alias that no longer exists, {cms_selflink} points to the root URL instead of my 404 page, as I'd expect.

Is this a problem with my setup, or does it always work like this? And if the latter, is there a workaround?
