cmsms for new non-profit organisation?

Post by daob »

Hi,

I'm looking to install a content managment system for a new non-profit organisation (students for children) here in the Netherlands.

Since every Euro spent on IT is a Euro less spent on a child, we do not have a large budget for this, and so we cannot run our own server.

So I would like to ask:

1. Can cmsms be installed without administrator rights? if not is there another OS CMS that can be?

2. We need to adminstrate people who donate to us (different kinds of subscribers, one-time donators etc.) Can this be done easily in cmsms? Again without the administrator rights?

looking forward to your answers/comments,

what is your definition of administrator rights?
if you install without administrator rights (no name or password for administrator, not even sure it will let you) anyone could login to your site and do whatever they wanted to it. as in deface it or add inappropreate(?sp) material.
2. We need to adminstrate people who donate to us (different kinds of subscribers, one-time donators etc.)
can you explain what you mean by administrate people?

If you mean without root access to the server, then yes. Any normal shared hosting account on which you have FTP access and PHP & MySQL installed should work fine.  :)

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but it sounds like some of the modules listed on these two pages may be of use to you:

If you have any more questions let us know.  ;)
Note: I don't have time to take on any more projects. I'm quite busy. I may be too busy to reply to emails or messages. Thanks for your understanding. :)
