Hello, while i was looking for a CMS for my new project i found CMSMS and got curious about it. I am wondering it's capabilities, security, ease of use and SEO friendliness. I am thinking to build a sports news website, can CMSMS could do better than this:
www.fotospor.com (Joomla)
Any comment is appreciated, i would also like to know other reasons that you may have to use CMSMS? Basically subject tells it all, why CMSMS? What makes it better than other CM systems?
Thanks.
Why CMSMS? Topic is solved
Re: Why CMSMS?
Like any other software package, it's as good as the person using it.

Re: Why CMSMS?
Yes, it could do a site like the one you linked to. However, that may be a challenge for your first CMS Made Simple Site. Nothing to do with CMS Made Simple; it would be even harder if it was your first Joomla site!
For me, CMS Made Simple is great because of its focus on web page management at a time when other CMS have lost their focus with so many other peripheral features. Whilst CMSMS can do blogging, community sites, ecommerce, etc, these, unlike Joomla or Drupal, do not get in the way of fundamental features that 90% of sites need: easy to use menu builder, re-usable content blocks, search, news, print page, and a very good and easy to use template system.

Agree and one more thing. I love the templating system.
Right now I'm still learning CMSMS and I love this CMS.

Re: Why CMSMS?
CMSms is (like all CMS) no website creation suite.rozkan wrote: can CMSMS could do better than this:
It can't do a website like or better than this.
This depends on you.
CMSms can do a much easier management of the content of a website.
But to set a site up to be managed by CMSms (or any other CMS) you need to do a lot of work with HTML, CSS, Javascript and (if using a template engine) last not least Smarty.
If you want to know how to get these effects (image fading, submenu etc.) this depends on the used modules.
There are various modules for CMSms that can be used for many different puposes.
To decide if CMSms is the right choice for you, you need to do some investigation what modules there are, how they perform the output, how they manage their content, flexibility etc.
---
Because of its modularity CMSms is very flexible.
And this is what most users like with CMSms.
If you ever have used Smarty before you won't use anything else.
No matter if you are designer, editor or programmer.
And this is why I also love this CMS because it can be used by editors, designers and programmers as well.
The last times i become more and more a programmer.
(Because i have a friend that does the layout stuff - at least the screendesigns).
So it is up to me to achieve things.
I like the module API that allows you with at least some basic php skills to create own modules very easily.
I've tried to develop things for Joomla some while ago and get scared when looking into the source code of modules or even core files.
With CMSms I gained more and more programming skills what was impossible with Joomla.
And the most important thing for me is that the backend usage of CMSms is ... just simple.
I've never seen a free open source CMS that has a clear, logic and easy to use interface like CMSms
So why CMSms, hm?
Why not?
