I want a specific bit of CSS to be applied to the WYSIWYG window edit area of MicroTiny but that functionality doesn't seem to work.
To replicate:
My Preferences > My Account > User Prefererences tab > Verify you are set to MicroTiny WYSIWYG editor.
Layout > Design Manager > Stylesheets tab > Options, create new stylesheet, name it MicroTiny, put simply "color: red;"
Extenstions > MicroTiny WYSIWYG editor > Settings tab > Admin editors > Stylesheet for editor: MicroTiny
Site Admin > Site Maintenance > Cache and content tab > Clear cache
Content > Content Manager > edit a page
I expected to see red text in the WYSIWYG window, I actually see black text on white.
Perhaps I am misunderstanding something?

Re: MicroTiny can't show specific stylesheet styles
It works here.
The only difference is my stylesheet named 'MicroTiny' has this code:
* {
color: red;
}
I tested in the MicroTiny admin panel. clearing the cache was not necessary.

Re: MicroTiny can't show specific stylesheet styles
Thanks Robert. I changed my stylesheet to yours and it started working.
BUT then it stopped working again and no amount of editing the stylesheet makes any difference.
This is using Chrome but Firefox behaves the same for me.
Happy to hear any suggestions about what to check for to debug this behaviour?
BTW similar issues discussed by several here:
viewtopic.php?f=28&t=74514&hilit=microtiny+stylesheet
but note I am not using https.

Re: MicroTiny can't show specific stylesheet styles
@paulbaker, I'm also facing the exact same issue.
I've tried with both MicroTiny and TinyMCE.
When you assign a stylesheet to the module (each of the 2 aforemention modules handle that in a slightly different way, with the latter allowing for you to assign a "design") those styles show up in the testing area of the module, but not on the actual content pages where the wysiwyg editor is used.
After you view a content page and navigate back to the testing area, the styles have disappeared from the testing area as well until you clear the site cache again.
MicroTiny doesn't even display the styles in the testing area.... i've only been able to get that far with TinyMCE.

Re: MicroTiny can't show specific stylesheet styles
Hi, i got the same problem. Styles are not loaded every time, sometimes they come back when i clear cache. And they offen only work in admin panel area but not when editing a page or article. It's a major bug !
Re: MicroTiny can't show specific stylesheet styles
Temporary tip to load the styles:
• clear cache
• Open Tinymce profile in admin and save
• Open a page/article and CTRL + F5 to clear cache, and then styles appears
