Lost data / lost site / lost Mysql data?

Post by Ivanflo »

Hello,
I use

Code: Select all

$CMS_VERSION = "1.12.2";
$CMS_VERSION_NAME = "Kolonia";
$CMS_SCHEMA_VERSION = "37";

I run my own Linux Ubuntu server:
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:    Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS
Release:        14.04
Codename:       trusty

Server: Localhost via UNIX socket
Servertype: MySQL
Serverversie: 5.5.52-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 - (Ubuntu)
Protocolversie: 10
Gebruiker: xxxxx@localhost
Karakterset van server: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)

Apache/2.4.7 (Ubuntu)
Client-versie van databank: libmysql - 5.5.52
PHP-uitbreiding: mysqli
Besides this technical info, i use different chapters for different subjects.
So I have a cms / cms1 / cms2 / cms3 ....
Every chapter has his own database. as I run my own server....

The day before yesterday I tried to export the cms-database, in order to make a sort of backup. Unfortunately I could NOT retrieve the local.sql file back into MySQL. All the data of this (first cahpter was gone... (I was/am mad about it)

Today I wanted to install a module "CGContentUtils" in order to install a contactform. I don't know what heppend, but again, I lost all my data from the openings chapter 1: cms
I created a DB cms1, empty one, just configured. No data ...
Now the spooky part, I can find all of my text now in CMS1, exept for the pic's, but that the least opthe problem.

Question, how can I retrieve the data of the first page?
How can I be sure that MySQL wounded alien thing...

Please som advice?

Btw, I looked up, but I don't foind a webhost that support CMS on this site.
In any case, mine webhost (One.com) doesn't.

Thanks in advance.

Is there a way to put the templates an stylsheet in one folder.
I, like I said several chapters.
For every chapter I have to comy the templates and style sheets....

Other common pages would be appriciate...

As I tried to install a module, I am, hope you understand, scared to upgrade cms
$CMS_VERSION = "1.12.2";
To a higher level 2.1.5

But loosing everything is not an option....
The "upgrader" module doesn't make a dump of my sql....
Never did, not when te ste was much smaller...

Advise please

Kind regards.

It sounds like you are struggling. Let me try to help.

You should not have chapters in different CMSMS instances. With CMSMS you can have different templates (designs) for different pages. You should be able to use just one installation.

Take a full backup of your files and your databases using your host's facilities. Look for a file manager and something like PHPMyAdmin for backing up the database.

Try the FormBuilder module for your contact form.

Most hosts will support CMSMS, it doesn't require anything particularly unusual.

For the upgrade see https://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/upgrading/to-cmsms-2.x

@paulbaker,
I do thank you for your repley. And sorry for the late respons.
However, it was not a CMS problem.
I running Ubuntu SRV 14.04 and (God works in mysterous way) som of the cmsx chapters didn't work anymore.

I foud the error in the system, solved, and I run now Ubuntu 16.04, without any problem.

After a the Crusade to find this sullution, i'm a little bit scared to upgrade to CMS2.1.5

btw, I installed AutoMySQLBackup and take a mysqldump aswell.
The first is complete DB (I'm running other programms that reqiure MySql)
And with I take every cms apart, to backup.
Evet the /html/* folder is with gzip in backup.

As you know, there is a lot of work on a good site....

Do you think that in version CMS2.1.5 I can put all my images, and template/stylsheets on one place? That would be fantastic....

ps, sorry is my English look like Russian.... I'm Dutch...
