Problem installing Self registration Module

Post by naturelab »

Just tried to install the latest Self registration Module (SelfRegistration -1.9.5 - 01/16/16), through Module Manager, everything seemed OK, but then the screen went completely white, Can't get back to the CMSMS admin.

I have just tried this on TWO sites, with the same results.

Anyone else having difficulty ?

White screen -> usually server error (500?) -> check error log of web server

Rename the folder of the installed module under /modules/ to be able to get access to admin again. If there were other modules installed because of dependencies one of those could be the culprit too of course.

Check system info and compare to module (and dependencies) requirements (php version?)

Thanks Guys.

It's PHP 5.6
Other modules install fine though.

NOTHING in the error log.

I managed to get the admin back, but now if I try to reinstall the Self registration Module it appears to be installing, but never finishes. ie It still says "download & install" rather than "installed".

In terms of dependencies / System info - everything seems OK to me :-

All the files seem to be there in the modules directory, but nothing relating to the Self registration Module showing up in the admin panel. Where should it show up BTW ? And the Module Manager still thinks it is not yet installed.

It might be timing out.

Go to the list of modules for your website and install it there.

I know this sounds strange but try a real page extension instead of / ...

I changed the Download Chunk Size (Kb) in the settings of ModuleManager.

I can't tell/see anything in that screenshot. I don't know if you are looking in the right spot or if something else it the problem.

Try downloading the module on cms website, and use a FTP to upload thw unzipped folder to the module folder.

I also had this behaviour in the past with some modules. Don't know where its going wrong, but then I always load the mod from the forge and import it in CMSMS, that always worked for me.
