TinyMCE is not loading for FEU though the switch WYSIWYG checkbox shows but to no effect. I have hardcoded in the head the javascript call to it but would like to find out why it isn't working as it should be.

Have you turned it on in Site Admin -> Global settings?

Does the return id in the header match the one on your site?

Click a news link to see your return id in the address bar, compare it to your javascript line in the header.

Yes it is switched on in Global settings.

The hardcoded version works if that is what you are referring to for the return_id

Hey applejack,

I ran into this, no wysiwyg editor on my frontend pages. In my case I was missing the tag to actually turn it own. You need to initialize the editor in the template or head using the tag {cms_init_editor}

From the help on this tag -
Quote:
How do I use it?

The first thing you must do is select the frontend WYSIWYG editor to use in the global settings page of the admin console. Next If you use frontend wysiwyg editors on numerous pages, it may be best to place the {cms_init_editor} plugin directly into your page template. If you only require the wysiwyg editor to be enabled on a limited amount of pages you may just place it into the "Page Specific Metadata" field in each page.

Hope that helps!
Alane

I tried this with TinyMCE and seems to ignore the profiles. I wonder if that is a problem with the tag or if there are more versions of it?

Hi Alane

Thanks, I thought it might be something like that. Which help page is this mentioned on?

Jack - That's on the tag's documentation in your admin - Extensions > Tags then click on {cms_init_editor}

Simon - sorry, I can't help you on that one, it is paying attention to the profile for me.

So if you edit the toolbar for the frontend profile it respects it? :(
