New page title not appearing in the menu

Actually, the problem is a little more complex than stated on the subject line.
When I changed the name of the page/title in the content form, I'm now not able to view that page on the site. It disables the page. The old page name still shows (static) on the menu, but when you click on it, you get an error page.
Also, I'm not able to post new pages...
Sounds like a basic block of access to the menu items...
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks, terry godfrey

I am using CMS Made Simple 1.5.3 "Arecibo".
All forms have layout (fields) as follows:
Content Type:
Title:
Menu Text:
Parent: [this field is populated with "none" for section headings]
Template: [all the templates are the same]
Content: [of course this is where I type in the changes using free form; or I select html to write in code]

Thus far since taking over the site, I can change / edit content. But I can not retitle a page or create new pages. Those changes are not recognized on the menu. At this point I have rendered one page un viewable from the public view. I can only view it when logged in as admin. As admin., I see the page name using its new name; public view - the menu still has old name but can't open the page.

I hope this helps you help me! Thanks for listening..

Terry Godfrey
