Error display with captcha after upgrade and only captcha hd veryfies

I updated to the recent capcha 0.4.1 and got a lot of error displays like:
Strict Standards: Non-static method Events::SendEvent() should not be called statically....

I read that this could be changed with error reports off in the php.ini, but i don't like so much so I will go back to 0.4.
More important I only get hd-chaptcha to work; phpcaptcha never returns true; also not when i use gd-library. This is the case in both 0-4.1 and 0.4.
I am using PHP 5.29, MYSQL 4.1.22.
I use the captcha with Formbuilder for an email veryfication.

Just stumbled into the same problem - am upgrading from 1.5.2 to 1.6.7 (so far) so was a bit concerned to see this.

Have downgraded from 0.4.1 to 0.4 as you suggested, which seems to work fine.  Should I be concerned that 0.4.1 didn't work, is there something I'm missing?
