Re: Showtime or other slideshow for CMSMS 2.0
Tanks a lot for your efforts Rolf!
Your willingnes to help is great - as usual.
I understand the conditions, so I guess that at the moment not much else remains than to wait for P's reply.

Re: Showtime or other slideshow for CMSMS 2.0
As a programmer, I have the same position as Rolf. From the error message in the bug report it doesn't seem to be that difficult to fix, but with there being so many other ways to handle slideshows (as Velden mentioned, I usually put them in the template or a gcb) I don't want the responsibility to maintain a project that I am not paid to do and don't use.I won't fork Showtime and be responsible for the module the next years... Don't use the module myself, so nothing to win for me...

Re: Showtime or other slideshow for CMSMS 2.0
I understand the people suggesting ListIt and its derivatives. But Showtime has a nice user interface for uploading pics and some good control/formatting options all built in....so why re-invent the wheel?
I totally understand not wanting to be responsible for a whole module from now until forever.
But, assuming permission is granted from the original author, can one of the devs make the correction so that the module at least works - with the express understanding that they don't take responsibility for the module? They could even do it anonymously, or with a new generic "dev repair" login...?

Re: Showtime or other slideshow for CMSMS 2.0
Perhaps Mev (Willemijn) can contact Pedrosken again and ask him.
Possibly my mail went into his spambox...
As far as I see now the fixes are minor

Oh my, I only just now saw this last post. It's email-notification to me was seen by gmail as spam...,
which by the way happend before with forum's email-notifications, unfortunately. Perhaps because of the links in it???
Perhaps that's also why Peter didn't get your message Rolf?
Anyway, I wrote to Pedrosken/Peter right away with this suggestion and hope he will react soon and give permission to one of the developpers here for this correction/fix, without having to take the entire responsibility of the project.
Should be possible,
or??

Re: Showtime or other slideshow for CMSMS 2.0
I'm using LISE together with this script: http://responsiveslides.com but of course you could use any script.
Using items for slides, and categories for slideshows, works amazingly good.
Haven't used Showtime in a while but i (my custumers actually) found the interface rather confusing, contrary to the clean interface of LISE, which perfectly fits the CMSMS 2 design.

Re: Showtime or other slideshow for CMSMS 2.0
Yep, got a short reply from Pedrosken/Peter this afternoon, saying that
'he will look at it shortly and problay will fix the compatibility-issue himself".
Would be great, wouldn't it?
By the way, I never heard my customers complaining about a confusing interface. Suppose it also depends on how much people are used to working with software anyway?

You can point him to http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/viewforum.php?f=83 for help. Even though the board itself is closed, there several fixes listed.

Re: Showtime or other slideshow for CMSMS 2.0
I have released a fork Showtime2 of the original Showtime-module in the forge. This release is based on Showtime 3.4 and working with CMSMS 2 again.
Please don't uninstall Showtime 3.4 before installing Showtime2. Otherwise your existing slideshows will be lost and must be recreated. Once Showtime2 is installed, you may uninstall and remove Showtime. Don't forget to change the tags from {Showtime show='1'} to {Showtime2 show='1'}!
Regards Peter

Oh woww, great !
I'm gonna try it out as soon as other work allow me, hopefully next week! (and after the upgrade to CMS-MS version 2 of the specific site that uses Showtime).
Thanks very much for your work Peter!!

Re: Showtime or other slideshow for CMSMS 2.0
Showtime2 is working well now with cmsms 2.x !! Although initially it transformed the dia-images to strange proportions..
But after going through the admin of Showtime/Nivo-slider, clicking and saving, it suddenly became right.
Don't think this was a cache-issue, since I had cleared that right after the install.
Anyway, I'n glad it all works now.
Thanks so much!!

Re: Showtime or other slideshow for CMSMS 2.0
I'm glad to hear, that Showtime2 is working for you too now. Did it convert all the old slideshows from Showtime 3.4? I had testet this only with two shows and a few slides, but it should be working fine.

Re: Showtime or other slideshow for CMSMS 2.0
Yes it did convert / took over the images of the slideshow from Showtime 3.4 Peter!
So, apart from the initially distortion of the image-proportions,
all went well finally!!
Great & thanks
willemijn
Of course I cann't say how it will proceed with more than 1 slideshow and much more images.
