Hi,

I'm fairly new to using CMS in general let alone CMS Made Simple so I'm hoping someone can help me.

We have the news module set up on our site and on the full news page there is a thumbnail image on the left hand side of each article posted.

This image can be changed to include an alternative per article however it is set to use our company logo as a default if an alternative image is not requested.

What I'm trying to find out is how to change the default image as our logo has changed without having to set an alternative image each time I add an article.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks

You will have to explain how the default image is set, do you have an image field, is it in the News template..?

This is the page I'm talking about (sorry if you're not supposed to post links, just seemed the easiest way of demonstrating)

http://www.g7.co.uk/index.php?page=g7-news

The default image I want to change is the blue "G7" one shown against the top article on the left hand side. As I mentioned (and is shown on the two articles further down the page) it can be changed each time you load an article but this is the default if an alternative image isn't selected.

I'm not sure how it's set as I'm afraid I wasn't involved in building the site and unfortunately we no longer have contact with the company that built it. I would presume as it is a default image then it would be in the template?

Not easy to tell from here but it looks like an image field, I'll come back later with a link to 'how I did that', in the mean time you may want to look into validating your HTML...

The url of that image is http://www.g7.co.uk/images/none.jpg. so replace none.jpg with an image of your new logo. Make sure your new none.jpg has the same size as the old one.

I posted an article on how to use default images in the News or CGBlog modules, under 'Smarty', could be used for other modules that have fields...
