SEF URLs for the news module categories?

Is it possible to SEF the news module categories? It's a significant constraint on SEO for the news module otherwise..

The url for the categories at present (by default) are something like this: /index.php?mact=News,cntnt01,default,0&cntnt01detailpage=&cntnt01category_id=1&cntnt01returnid=58

SEF is turned on in cmsms config, works everywhere else but here, would need it to be something like sitename.com/news/categoryname

What version of CMSMS?...

It's 1.8.1.

There have been similar requests so I thought there may be an established solution, otherwise I was going to look at url re-write but I'd rather avoid that if possible

For as far as I know, that 'established solution' is upgrading to latest version of CMSMS (1.9.2) and News (2.11) and setting up pretty urls with mod_rewrite.

It's a feature now!

When creating or editing a news article, you'll find a textbox called 'url'.

I'm using 1.10.3 and having exactly the same trouble with the news categories.
There is an option for URL in each article but not on the categories.
I have detailed what I have tried in this post http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/viewtopi ... 16#p277616 (adding a udt, modifying news template, htaccess and so on

If anyone can help would be most grateful!
