Hello everybody!
My attempt is to upgrade CMSMS 1.7 to 2.x
The server is running PHP Version 5.6.21 and I follow the instructions at http://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/upgrading/to-cmsms-2.x
Now I have made the backups, all files and databases. My next step is to "Perform all third party module upgrades.".
Any idea how I know what is third party? I have these modules:
For example, this very first "Calendar", I cannot find it at http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/project/li ... tml&page=2.
Any ideas, suggestions?
All help is welcome

You shouldn't be able to upgrade directly from 1.7 to 2.x, so I'm assuming you didn't....cms3000 wrote:My attempt is to upgrade CMSMS 1.7 to 2.x

Additionally you'll need to check if 3rd party modules are compatible with CMSMS 2.x http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/project/li ... ed/CMSMS-2
Don't use FTP (I'm betting you have used it...) but if absolutely must then make sure it's in binary mode.cms3000 wrote:I followed all the steps but managed only to get this as a result

Does this mean that I have to do the upgradesJo Morg wrote:You shouldn't be able to upgrade directly from 1.7 to 2.x, so I'm assuming you didn't....

1st 1.7 to 1.8.2, then 1.8.2 to 1.9.4.3, then to 1.10.3, and to 1.11.13, then to 1.12.1 - and then to 2.1.3?
Totally six (6) upgrades?
Re: Upgrading from 1.7 to 2.x - some simple questions...
You don't have to, but you should... depending on the sites (and on your experience) you may succeed in going straight from 1.7 to 1.12.2, and then to 2.1.3, but there are a few possible pitfalls... in any case there are a few modules on your list that are not yet compatible with CMSMS 2.x, so when in 1.12.2 there is some planing you may need to do before upgrading to 2.1.3.cms3000 wrote:Does this mean that I have to do the upgrades

Re: Upgrading from 1.7 to 2.x - some simple questions...
Thank you for the modul info.
I have to try some other way if that was the problem.
Okay, I tried to be carefull. I uploaded with Dreamweaver, ftp, of course.Jo Morg wrote:Don't use FTP (I'm betting you have used it...) but if absolutely must then make sure it's in binary mode.

Re: Upgrading from 1.7 to 2.x - some simple questions...
Ha-haa! The install-file was corrupted during the uploading. You knew it.
The successfull uploading was now done by OSX Terminal FTP, good'ol Unix
But, what should I do with this? The assistant said "We did not find an installation of CMS Made Simple in this directory. It looks like this is a new installation" - but there is that older CMSMS!
I have backup of all files, could I later upload some of those files? Pics, pages and such?
I'm happy if you can help me with advices. Sorry about the newbie questions
