Hi megabob,

Had a couple of problems with this version of FCKeditorX on my site.

1). When I saved after changing an image (on an existing page) the header end tags got screwed up - i.e. was changed to

. However, this didn't happen when I tested on your site.

2). The 'Options' appear directly under the 'Main' textarea and buttons instead of needing to use the tab. This happens on your site too.

The image browse does seem to be working - though I didn't test thoroughly.

Keep up the good work!

Ian

That seems to have solved the problems I mentioned. :-)

Managed to successfully upload an image and add it to a page.

Looking good!

Thanks again.

Hi Bob
thanks. But when I try to insert an image on your testsite I get a red crossed frame, both in preview and in site view.
Win XP, IE 6, all updates
Hans

EDIT This only applies when I use the modify/insert image botton to insert an image, the image button works fine! It is also possible to edit the image afterwards, both rightclicking and using the image modify/insert button.
Great work Bob, thanks.

Thanks, Bob!

I have a question about customizing FCKeditor. When I add an image I can select alignment in the image properties window. Can I edit somewhere so that if I select for example Left Alignment, then class="left" is added to the img tag?

I would like to use this to automatically add some margin-right to left-aligned images and margin-left to right-aligned images. I know I can set a custom style in the image properties window, but that would be too complicated for newbies.

This is not that urgent, so check on this only when there are no other tings to fix before FCKeditor works fine with 0.11 (which it seems to do now, though). Now it's only for the FCKeditor developers to make it load faster... :-)

Mille grazia again, Bob! A working WYSIWYG is really important for me, since many users of my sites won't have html knowledge. :-)

I'm currently at work, and here, we only have IE (I know, I know :) that's not the best, but not my choice :)). I don't know if this is IE problem, but this morning at home, I thought everything was going well with firefox... but now I'm not sure anymore

actually, I have now different problems with the runtime editor... it does appear blank if editing news, and if I press source, i see it's blank as well. If editing page, I see the text until I try to submit. It fails as cms says "no content given".

I will revert to b3 or b2 for this client, as he will need it online tonight (and do not have the path problem, as his site is in domain root). I also have some surprise guests at home for tonight and tomorrow, and special events on thursday to saturday night... so I'm really sorry Bob, I won't be able to test further...

Cheers

Thx anyway

That is actually the same in Firefox, Patricia. I tried that when I read your message.

Editing pages works fine, but when editing news articles, the editor is empty.

That's strange. I tried the test site on IE6 and Win XP, and both image buttons work fine. The Image button actually inserts an input tag, so it's not possible to drag the corners to change the size in the editor.  I think that button is meant for forms only. The Insert/Modify Image button inserts a normal img tag, though, so that's the one to use normally.

One thing I would like later on is to use the CMSMS Image Manager for the FCKeditor image browser, so that it's possible to see thumbnails instead of just a list of file names. Then thumbnails created either by uploading through FCKeditor or the Image Manager could use the same thumbnails. Now I see thumb_image.jpg for the thumbnails created by the Image Manager, which may be confusing for newbies trying to select the right image to insert, when there is a long list of images.

;-)

actually, even pages.. we first see the text, but the editor kind of "emtpy" it, as when I submit the page, it says "no content given"...

Oh, that's strange. I tried Bob's test site in IE, editing a page and submit works fine there... Or do you get the same error there?
