I am using the latest version of the Gallery: http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/project/files/726 and CMSMS ver. 1.10.3

I modified the lang.php file and tried to upload it via FTP, but I didn't have the permissions to do that. I couldn even chmod the lang directory.

What seems to be the problem and how can I edit the lang files?

Thank you for the answer, but that is not exactly what I need - in all other modules I can freely edit all files, so I expect I can do that in Gallery module.

Any ideas?

P.s. The thing is that I would edit some javascript files, but I can't replace them, which seems kinda odd to me. Any bug in installation?

must have something to do with file permissions and file ownership. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8505

The method Rolf suggested is the best way to follow, because your adjustments will not be overwritten during future upgrades.


Which javascript file are you trying to edit exacly? Can't you save it or does it simply not work the way you expected?

Well it doesn't really matter, I would like to edit a gallery template's .js file, because I don't have all the options available in the CMSMS backend, but I just can't seem to change anything in folder Gallery. I know it's more of a server problem, but I thought someone ran into same situation and could help...
