CMS made simple needs YOUR help
Hi forum,
like you know CMS made simple is a great CMS.
If I make a look at board counter I see 1798 threads/show offs but only 25 (!) free available themes on themes page
http://themes.cmsmadesimple.org/Download_Themes.html
CMS made simple is an open source software. The best way to say "Thank you" to all developers, translators und forum supporters is uploading your theme.
So I want to invite all of you to anonymize your template, export it via ThemeManager and upload it here:
http://themes.cmsmadesimple.org/Share_a_Theme.html
Show us your enthusiasm for CMS made simple with your theme upload.
Thank you!

Re: CMS made simple needs YOUR help
Hi,
I went to these pages recently and I am planning to post there my theme for scouting site recently. It just needs some clearing. If you want to see, how it looks, look at: http://junak.litomysl.org. In fact, it is modified Andreas 08 theme.

Re: CMS made simple needs YOUR help
Will take a look at that. I've gotton a lot from cmsmadesimple as a designer and feel like I haven't given a lot back.
This way I can contribute. I was#nt aware of the themes until I read this post.

Re: CMS made simple needs YOUR help
Yeah same for me. The reason why I, and maybe others, didn't think of adding a theme is because it doesn't feel like I'm creating one. It's so damn easy.
But to return the favor to CMSMS I'll create some themes for y'all

Re: CMS made simple needs YOUR help
Hi!
I am new to CMS, and I really appreciate the extra themes. I wanted to mention that when I view many of the themes in IE, and even this site, the header image will flicker when I mouse over it. While this may be unique to me (my settings or something) I have fixed this in the stylesheet by adding the background img to the header, in addition to it already being in the header H1. As shown here,
div#header {
height: 250px; /* adjust according your image size */
background: #ffffff url(uploads/header1.jpg) no-repeat <-----add the same img here to stop it from flickering
margin: 0;
}
div#header h1 a {
/* you can set your own image here */
background: #ffffff url(uploads/header1.jpg) no-repeat;
display: block;
height: 250px; /* adjust according your image size */
text-indent: -999em; /* this hides the text */
text-decoration:none; /* old firefox would have shown underline for the link, this explicitly hides it */
}
I hope this is ok to post....I thought I would mention it in case someone else is having the same problem.
Thanks for a great CMS package. I am not a programmer, but I can work with this!!

Re: CMS made simple needs YOUR help
Mark, bravo! Thanks for sharing all the templates you've 'ported' to CMSMS - and thanks to all the other people too!
View all the Themes available:

Now I just have to do one myself and work out how to turn it into a 'theme'.mark wrote: I just uploaded a bakers dozen themes... Have fun... PS. all have been check to insure IE don't cry ...

Re: CMS made simple needs YOUR help
You know, I had seen the theme exporter, but I thought it was for developing themes for the Administrative side. I didn't realize it was for the USER side templates.
Maybe that should be clarified at bit in the explanation.
I'll see what I can come up with.

Re: CMS made simple needs YOUR help
BTW, if anyone knows a source of free templates that are licensed such that they could be converted for CMSMS and redistributed through the template sharing site, I'd be willing to donate anything I converted. The templates at http://www.oswd.org/ all carry individual licenses so the legality of redistributing them here would depend on the template.
I've already submitted a suggestion to the folks at OSWD that they include license details as part of the search criteria, and amend the submission process to include checkboxes for ok to redistribute, must credit author, etc.
Anyone know of other good sources for templates?

Come to think of it,
http://themes.cmsmadesimple.org/Share_a_Theme.html
needs licensing info too. Just a thought.

Re: CMS made simple needs YOUR help
The other two good sources I know about are Opendesigns and Openwebdesign. More active are Opendesigns (actually people moved from Openwebdesign there).vaughnt wrote: BTW, if anyone knows a source of free templates that are licensed such that they could be converted for CMSMS and redistributed through the template sharing site, I'd be willing to donate anything I converted. Re: CMS made simple needs YOUR help
Just uploaded my simple theme with a sticky navigation bar (see url http://lilalaser.de). It includes workarounds for the inability of IE to interprete the CSS tag 'position:fixed' correctly. I did not know how to produce a thumbnail and there does not seem to be a way to add it after upload. Also, I wasn't sure about the contents of the xml fiel. So I added special HTML/CSS code to the description field.cyberman wrote: Show us your enthusiasm for CMS made simple with your theme upload.
BTW, there seems to be a theme issue with the downlad pages: With firefox/iceweasel v2.0.0.1 the full themes url (http://themes.cmsmadesimple.org/Full_Themes.html) renders without a scrollbar. Thus, the majority of themes is inacsessible with this browser. Konqueror v3.5.4 and opera v9.02 are just fine.

A lot of free open web designs http://www.openwebdesign.org
Many Great free web designs here.
I'm trying few of them. Hoping more and more people are porting them in CMSMS.
