I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news again, and again this announcement is late.  However, I have a new rule for you guys to read.

The Dev Team has agreed (sometime in September or October)  that no commercial advertising is to be allowed in forum posts, profiles or signatures.

The CMSMS Dev Team makes revenue from advertising and from official partnerships.  Allowing advertisements for commercial products or services by forum members would be in conflict to this.  We also have no way of monitoring these products for their validity, or quality of product or service, etc.

Additionally, we routinely delete hundreds of spam posts and accounts per week for people wanting to advertise everything from Advil to Hosting Companies, Image conversion packages, and Shoes to Wild Game Hunting.  There is technically no difference between these posts, and advertising links from forum members in good standing.  Except that the forum members in good standing generally mean no harm.

We have already asked numerous people to take down blatant advertisements in their forum signatures (usually advertisements for hosting companies, and/or web related products or services).  We will continue to do so.  Usually we will just PM you with a polite message.  However if the advertising is loud and offensive we will remove your forum signature in it's entirety.

This policy will be reviewed again at the next Dev Team meeting, so I'll keep you posted.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.  But for the time being people please ensure that your forum signatures/profile have no commercial advertising. Linking to your blog site though is fine.
