Frequently people post fixes (some good, some bad), or tips and tricks, and other functionality enhancements on the forum that involve 'modifying' some php source files.

If you have modified the sources from the ones you have downloaded, and then run into a problem, you are pretty much on your own for support.  The development team cannot support you because we cannot know what you did to the site, or what consequences those changes may have had.

So therefore, keep this in mind before asking for support for your modified install of CMS Made Simple.    If you've modified the sources, you pretty much make it so that we can't and won't support you.

ADDENDUM:

Some users in an effort to be helpful will post modifications to core files, or to module files.  These changes though possibly helpful, may have other consequences or may just be incorrect.  Also, inexperienced people modifying their installs may have different versions of the code, and/or make the changes incorrectly.  Besides negating your support for the reasons listed above, this leads to even more confusion and irritation on the part of the user, and of the person who ends up getting the emails and trying to do the support.

Therefore we highly discourage the posting of ANY code changes to the forum, and may even delete such posts at the moderators discretion.

OFFICIAL:

For the reasons discussed above, among others, the policy is now official.  As of September 2010, the CMSMS Dev Team agreed that the posting of, discussion of, or promotion of hacks to CMSMS or it's modules would not be permitted on this forum.  Any such posts will be deleted.

Just to let you know.  I should have posted this 3 months ago... just never got around to it.  I apologize for that.
