Here's how the forum currently works:

New Registrations:
a: All new registrants are subject to post approval for their first few posts (currently 10). This helps us to keep the spammers out and at least hide them from the public, thereby defeating the purposes of spamming our forum. And it keeps out the obvious trolls (thank god there are only a few of these, but they die hard).

b: All new registrants cannot edit their profile for the first few posts (currently 5 I think). This prevents people from registering just to share some spam in their user profile.

All Posts:
a: All posts go through our anti-spam protection software. And if the poster is a known spammer, or the post is spam the user is 'flagged' and the post instantaneously deleted.

b: Our moderators regularly monitor the forum for stuff that has snuck through, for off topic posts, or keyword stuffers, trolls, policy violators etc. The moderator may move, edit or delete the post, or ban the poster, or any combination of the above.

Everybody needs to read the forum rules BEFORE POSTING. If there is any doubt about whether the post you want to make is appropriate ask us before posting it. i.e: if you want to post a referral to a latest howto document related to HTML5 or something that may be okay. Posting a link to your affiliate page on **daddy*tld or to your employers hosting offers is probably not.

Here's our forum policy regarding spam and trolling:

The goal of this forum is to provide a convenient community where people can learn about, communicate about, contribute to, and solve problems related to CMSMS. Not a free advertising source for a business. If you would like to pursue partnership or advertising with CMSMS then feel free to contact us.

This board is also not a place to talk about politics, the latest news events, or general technical issues like the latest iphone version or the latest version of Ubuntu (Unless of course it specifically and directly relates to CMSMS) or a general place to 'chat' with your friends because your corporate firewall blocks instant messengers. Therefore, in an attempt to keep this content clean, and on subject... we will delete posts and/or ban people that even look like spam or spammers or trollers. We will also delete posts that are obviously off topic.

i.e: If you post a message about purchasing medical products online, or other useless stuff like links to completely off topic youtube videos, etc.  you attempt to place a big keyword stuffed advertisement for your SEO company, or you are offensive to anybody in any way, you are subject to instantaneous banning without appeal.

Various forum tools and procedures have been instituted (and probably will change here and there) to help prevent the bulk of the spam or spammers or trolls from getting in, thereby making the job of the moderators easier. More on this below.

If you feel that you have been banned accidentally or you cannot get in because of a ban that is in place (that may not be your fault), please feel free to contact a member of the development team directly by email.
