diff 1.11.7 to 1.11.8 gone [right - solved]

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

diff 1.11.7 to 1.11.8 gone [right - solved]

Post by janvl »

Hi the diff-install is gone.

Does that mean that it was broke? I still have it but not yet used it.

Should one do a full install rather?

Kind regards,
Jan

Indeed it was broke so be glad it's gone.

Heard there will come a 1.11.8.1 soon.

The diff package wasn't "broken", like it breaks your website... I used at my own site and it is still online ;)
In the 1.11.8 release we added a new "event". To use it you need a small database scheme update. So you need to do /install/upgrade.php. A diff package doesn't contain the installer...
The diff packages shouldn't be made in the first place, but were accidentally.
When you used the diff you couldn't use the new event, but in case of an upgrade the chance you want it is very small.

We thought of cutting a new release 1.11.8.1 to solve this, but there were some other new reports needing some code changes. In the next week there will be a 1.11.9 release needing a scheme change. Thus no diff packages!

Hope this helps,
Rolf

Thanks Rolf,

I want to schedule upgrades and was a bit worried that I was going to need 2 Upgrades after each other.

Now that this is clear, I will start posting the users.

Kind regards,
Jan
