Upgrading MySQL 4.0 to 5.0?

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Upgrading MySQL 4.0 to 5.0?

Post by schipper »

I have an old CMSMS v1.4.1, with MySQL 4.0. I am planning to upgrade to v1.11. Do i need to upgrade my MySQL to 5.0? How and when do i do that? Should i just export the old database, then set up a 5.0, and import it from there, as the first step?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I did read through those links, but i guess my question is, at what point will i need to upgrade my server from MySQL 4 to 5? I can assume that v1.11 will not work with 4, so that i will have to create a NEW database using 5. I just wasnt sure when in the process that would happen, and how i would go about doing that.

I suppose i just have to do it and find out. I am hoping it will tell me when to do it!
