Hi there...

Let me just start by saying that I have the javascript tag for CSSMenu in my template and I've also spent a day searching the boards looking for an answer, as I know this can be a common problem, but I've drawn a blank. :)

I feel like I should be starting this post like an agony aunt column...

'Dear Dr CSS...' :D

My CSS Menu isn't working in IE and I have no idea why. The dropdown is not working, neither are the shadows and curved borders.

Also, just another little problem that I can't seem to fix, I have added opacity onto the menu, so that it floats above the page, but when I hover over items only the bits at the side of the 2nd level menu items has an extra bit of background that looks stupid. I've tried removing that background completely, but it removed it for the entire menu and I can't work out how to remove one, without the other disappearing too.

You can see what I mean HERE.

Thanks in advance :)

It works for me in IE6 but 7 has the menu on the very far right just outside of the page, you need to clean up your HTML before you go any farther...

did you have trouble loading the W3.org link you provided? I've tried it in two browsers now, both last night and today, and it's not opening properly. No CSS is loading on their page...

Dunno whether it's my naff connection, or the W3C website, but it takes ages to load at the moment... ???

Anyway, I've tracked down the HTML errors and I have sorted them all out apart from 2 warnings, that are part of the code generated in the Showtime Slideshow addon, which has the '&' symbol twice in its comments and that's being flagged up by the validator... the second prob is the use on the rel="" in the img tag, which is also generated by the same addon... so, without rewriting the addon, which is above my abilities, I can't get rid of those errors. I don't think they effect the menu problems though...

What do you think? :)

I would have used one of the other menu style sheets, that one has too many places where it calls radius, background images, background colors, etc., start with a simple cssmenu and make sure it drops in all browsers then start doing some of the special styles...

If you want to stick the menu to the top put it at the very top of the template not down in the head, imho...

I have been racking my brains on this and still can't get it to work. I've tried the core templates for the CSSMenu and CSS, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any really stripped down templates and CSS for a CSS drop down menu so I can try them?

Thanks in advance!
