Announcing FEU_Auth_LDAP

Post by calguy1000 »

For all of you intranet guys out there, or those of you building intranets that are stuck in that windoze world, you now have an even better reason to use CMSMS.

Thanks to a very generous sponsor, The FrontEndUsers module has been modified to support different authentication mechanisms.  The first of these being FEU_Auth_LDAP.

This module allows authenticating against an OpenLDAP or ActiveDirectory servers, authenticated users are then created inside the FrontEndUsers module mechanism whereby users can then adjust their profile information etc.

This module has been tested against
- OpenLDAP
- ActiveDirectory
- ActiveDirectory + NTLM (for SingleSignon)
(the mod_auth_sspi module was used in a wamp server environment).

The module is very flexible, and allows lots of options, so you may have to play a little bit to get things working in your environment.

Tip:
In ActiveDirectory (if AssumeActiveDirectory) is enabled, you may not need to specify a BaseDN as attempts are made to find one).

Looking forward to your feedback.
